ARTIKA attends the presentation of Llum, the new artwork by Lita Cabellut

On Monday, 4 May, artist Lita Cabellut presented Llum in the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona, a new work commissioned by the institution to mark its 575th anniversary. The event featured the participation of the UB’s rector, Joan Guàrdia, and art curator Eloy Martínez de la Pera, who accompanied the artist in a presentation defined by emotion and symbolism.

Llum, a canvas measuring 290 × 400 cm, located at the top of the staircase leading to the Rectorate of the University of Barcelona (UB).

True to Cabellut’s distinctive visual language, Llum stands out for its expressive intensity and its palette of earthy tones, deep shadows and whites close to the colour of bone. The work affirms art’s capacity to illuminate, heal and inspire, while entering into dialogue with the university as a space of knowledge, memory and transformation.

The ARTIKA editorial team was present at this significant event, which was also attended by the artist’s family, members of her team, and gallery owners close to her. The presentation of Llum was also an intimate encounter with an artist deeply linked to our publishing house, whose work continues to open spaces of emotion, memory and beauty.
