What does it feel like to star in an ARTIKA?

Buying an ARTIKA is truly an experience. Every detail counts in our handcrafted creations, from the materials to the case design. The stars of these art books have all produced unique pieces with a personality all their own. Much more than books, they are works of art in themselves.

Style

“The book has fantastic presence”. This is how the maestro Botero sums up his first physical contact with a copy of his work in ARTIKA, because he knows he is in the presence of a top-quality work of craftsmanship, which represents his work in all its facets. The result showcases the essence of Botero’s art: volume, colour, sensuality and tenderness are found in both Botero’s Women and Vía Crucis.

Personality

“You can’t take it any further. Any further is holding the painting”. For Antonio López, creating an ARTIKA demands deep involvement. Which is why he has turned Landscapes into an intimate work, which goes beyond the traditional art book. Not only did the artist chose the images, but he also designed the edition and narrated, in his own words, both his life’s journey and the influences that have marked his style.

Creativity

“For me, this work is the grand book”. The studio is the place where the artworks we admire in museums and public spaces are forged. For Jaume Plensa, this is not only a physical space: the studio is in the artist’s own mind. For the first time ever, Jaume Plensa 61 lets us in on all the phases of his creative process: “The artist isn’t focused, at least in my case, on the finished work, but on the process”.

Emotion

According to Lita Cabellut, the teamwork at ARTIKA was “exciting, demanding and tremendously human”. The result of this experience is Blood Wedding. Cabellut’s technique and heart have transformed Lorca’s classic into a work of art. The passion of the original text is embodied in each of the images that the artist has created exclusively for ARTIKA through a groundbreaking use of scenery, colours and textures.

At ARTIKA, the artist is the star

Fernando Botero, Antonio López, Jaume Plensa and Lita Cabellut have left their mark with unique creations that are now part of their respective creative legacies. Although their styles and approaches are diverse, all four have one thing in common: their personalities are embodied in these art books. Every art lover can see it for themselves exclusively through an ARTIKA book.
