ARTIKA Participates in ARCO 2018, presenting two new works

ARCO, one of the most well-established showcases for contemporary art on the international circuit, closed its doors on 25th February with a very positive balance. With more than 100,000 visitors, this was the most successful ARCO art fair in recent years, with a 20 % increase in attendance, according to initial estimates.

And for yet another year, ARTIKA took part in ARCO, where it presented two of the company’s most recent creations. These consisted of, firstly, Cuerpos y flores by Antonio López, the painter’s first and only artist’s book, a volume that tackles the subjects of the passing of time and the beauty of the ephemeral, and which perfectly expresses the realism and the delicacy of the well-known Spanish artist’s technique.

The second work presented by ARTIKA (and the most recent) was El Teatro of Toulouse-Lautrec. This volume represents a wonderful journey through late-19th-century Paris, the Belle Époque which the artist knew so well and which he portrayed in his groundbreaking sketches.

Artika’s presence at ARCO this year is particularly special, since it coincides with the company’s 15th anniversary. Thus it was the perfect scenario for Artika to surround itself with specialists, artists, collectors and art lovers in general, in an experience in which ARTIKA’S works received a warm welcome from all the visitors who came to see them for themselves.
