Artika to be among the exhibitors at ‘ARTS LIBRIS’

Artika will be featured at Arts Libris, the International Contemporary Publishing Fair – an important meeting place for the leading publishers of artist’s books, and which will be held this year from 23rd to 26th April at the Centro Arts Santa Mónica in Barcelona.

As has become customary, this fair is being held to coincide with the week of 23rd April, International Book Day and the day of Sant Jordi (St George), which is an important date for all those who love books and reading. For Artika this is the perfect setting in which to meet up with other publishers, booksellers, gallery owners, collectors and book-lovers in general; it is also without doubt the perfect place for Artika to exhibit its artist’s books.

Artika is making its debut at this fair after its great success at Arco a few weeks ago, at which the thousands of people who attended the book fair had the chance to admire 58, Artika’s latest artist’s book, the central focus of which is the sculptor Jaume Plensa.

At this year’s Arts Libris, Artika’s latest publication will also occupy a prominent position among the works featured at the publishing company’s section of the exhibition. Visitors to the fair will be able to browse through some of the most spectacular publications the company has produced over the past 12 years, including Miquel Barceló’s Cahier de félins, which portrays a series of felines presented in a monumental notebook in which the Majorca-born artist manages to merge movement and action of the past and present.
