The Art Book contains a carefully curated selection of 40 photographs chosen by McCurry after half a century of capturing the world. The photographer has overseen the color and printing process of each and every one of the images to ensure the highest possible quality. The images are printed on high-quality paper, making this volume an essential piece for photography lovers.

The Study Book features an in-depth analysis by the artist of each of the 40 photographs, as well as contributions from his sister, Bonnie McCurry, who offers the most personal biographical profile of the artist. Journalist Antoni Ortí explores the techniques, concerns, and influences that make McCurry’s work timeless. The volume concludes with a timeline of the photographer’s most important achievements and milestones.

PRODUCTION PROCESS

McCurry has been involved in every stage of the book’s creation: the selection of photographs, the supervision of the printing, the commentary on each photograph, etc.

Both volumes are manually bound. The cover of the Study Book features a black-and-white portrait of Steve McCurry.

The cover of the Art Book is cloth-bound, with the artist’s name embossed in dry print. The 40 photographs are bound using a three-point adhesive for optimal paper preservation.

The title of the photograph, the numbering, and the seal of authenticity with Steve McCurry’s copyright appear at the bottom of each print, certifying its quality.

Each photograph is protected with high-quality translucent Fedrigoni paper, ensuring the utmost care and preservation of McCurry’s 40 original images.

On one side of the maroon-colored case, Steve McCurry’s name is displayed. Inside, high-quality black foam protects both volumes.

The cover of the case is the portrait of the Afghan girl printed on acrylic glass, assembled into the rest of the piece. It is a work of art within itself, created to be displayed.

Steve McCurry has personally signed all 2,998 copies of the limited and numbered edition of ‘Capturing the Soul’, completing his involvement in this project.

The entire work is shipped in a box designed as a tribute to the artist and the 40 photographs included in this spectacular artist’s book, ‘Capturing the Soul.

Steve McCurry

(Philadelphia, 1950) Trained in cinematography at the University of Pennsylvania, he began his career in local newspapers before traveling to India with little more than his camera.

A curious and tireless observer, he has captured the human condition in everything from everyday scenes to major wars and our coexistence with nature. His photograph of the Afghan girl for National Geographic brought the reality of refugees to the world.

McCurry has contributed to The New York Times and Time, among others, and has received awards such as the Robert Capa Gold Medal and four World Press Photo Awards.

He is currently a member of Magnum Photos and the International Photography Hall of Fame, has exhibited on five continents, and founded the charitable organization ImagineAsia in Afghanistan.
