ARTIKA, one of Spain’s representatives at Art New York
ARTIKA was one of the partnerships representing Spain which took part in the international art fair Art New York. This event, which is a must for anyone in the art world, was held this year from 2nd to 5th May, thus coinciding with the peak time of the art and cultural season par excellence of this American city.
Those visitors to Art New York who looked in at the ARTIKA stand had the chance to find out about our latest new publications. On one hand, there was Botero’s women, which invites the reader to discover all the female figures depicted by the Colombian maestro, and on the other, there was Jaume Plensa 61, a book that explores the creative process of one of the most highly-esteemed sculptors in the international art world.
During the fair, other works were on display that focused on some of the world’s most influential artists, including Fernando Botero, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Andy Warhol, who were very well-represented during one of the most important weeks on New York’s cultural calendar. Just like in previous years, the art fair was held at Pier 94 in Midtown Manhattan. Now in its fifth year, Art New York featured high-quality paintings, photographs, engravings, drawings, designs and sculptures by more than 300 artists from 70 international galleries in 18 different countries, and which represented more than 50 cities from around the world.
