PRODUCTION PROCESS

Two types of paper have been used to print the drawings: a watercolor paper and a handmade paper, which reproduces the characteristics of the paper used by the artist.

The 45 sheets have been glued together using three dots of glue. The numbering and the artist’s seal appear on the back of each sheet.

The drawings in this edition are faithful to the originals, especially in the techniques used by Botero, such as watercolor and pencil.

Both the pages of the Art Book and the Study Book are hand-sewn with cotton thread.

The binding of both books is handmade with covers printed on canvas cloth.

The covers of the Art Book are formed by magnetized flaps that give this volume an impeccable finish.

Simultaneously bound, the two bound books of Botero’s Women form a detail of the image of the painting Cabeza (2006).

The sculpture-case, made of polyurethane, a type of high-density resin, is created from an aluminum mold.

Once the piece has been demolded, the artisan corrects possible impurities and imperfections by roughing and caulking.

The two parts of the case are lacquered in white and then in green, except for the face, imitating the color of the picture painted by Botero in 2006.

The color is then applied to the face with digital printing. To highlight the color and add details, two prints are made.

Finally, the signature of “Botero” is silk-screened by hand in white ink. In addition, the Notarial Act is hand numbered and included in the Art Book.
